Double Track - A complete guide

22 Sep 2022 By CurtainStudio

A double track or double rail allows you to hang a sheer curtain for daytime privacy and a lining curtain on the back for warmth and night-time privacy. Our readymade and custom options are great for those wanting to add fullness, softness and the many more benefits of double tracking.

Why should you double track?
Having two curtain options for one window gives you control over light, temperature and appearance year-round. Sheer curtains are gorgeous and provide a delicate light filter, as well as daytime privacy and protection of your furnishings. While this is wonderful during warmer months, it isn’t ideal on colder nights. Putting a curtain with thermal properties on the track/rod behind the sheer will provide you with insulation, night-time privacy and dim-out or blockout features.

How do you hang double curtain tracks?
Buying and installing a readymade double track is simple to do at home yourself, just by following our instructions here. For a custom double track, book a free measure and quote with your local Design Consultant and opt for our installation service.
